Legoland Sierksdorf Flags

The 1st German Legoland was established in 1973 near Sierksdorf on the area of the nowadays Hansa-Park, an amusement park. Legoland had been made from 28,000,000 Lego bricks. Due to a low number of visitors and the enormous licence fees, which had to be paid to the Danish Lego Group, the park had to close already three years later in 1976. The State of Schleswig-Holstein had supported the park with 30,000,000 DM (~= 15,000,000 €). After its bankruptcy the park was administrated fiducially by the state, until Hansa-Park was established.

The flags had a ratio of approx. 5:8 and were divided either vertically (see leftt image above) or horizontally (see right image above) by five stripes in the then only colours of the Lego bricks, black (12.5%) white (25%), blue (12.5%), red (25%) and yellow (25%), or in ratio of stripes 1:2:1:2:2.
