Overview

I am from Armenia, Quindío. The flag color it is green, yellow and white.
Luis F. Jaramillo, 29 January 1997

Mr. Jaramillo may well have noticed the flag of his province. But it is not according to Profesor Restrepo Uribe who informed about a green, yellow, red. A change, perhaps? In my city lives another citizen born in Armenia (Colombia), but he has never heard of provincial flags (he came to Catalonia twenty years ago).
Jaume Ollé, 31 January 1997

And the official site <www.presidencia.gov.co> agrees with Jaume. It is red.
Dov Gutterman, 3 June 2000

The flag is green-yellow-CRIMSON.
From <www.quindio.gov.co>: "Tres franjas iguales en su dimensión, colocadas en forma vertical, con los colores verde, amarillo y púrpura."
Jens Pattke
, 10 Febuary 2004

I was born in Manizales (Caldas) somehow close to the Quindío department. Mr. Jens Pattke is correct, the flag is green, yellow and crimson. The flag that Mr. Luis Jaramillo remembers (green, yellow and white) is the Armenia's flag (Armenia is the capital city of the department).
Ricardo Arce, 18 July 2005

According to <www.quindio.gov.co>, the third colour of Quindío is crimson. That colour represents the colour of matured coffee grains, ready for harvest. Green stand for vegatation, particulary coffee plantations. Yellow/gold represents departments share in national economy. The Flag was designed by Solita Lozano de Gómez.
