The flag is a horizontal triband of purplish-red, white, and black. It has, in its center, a small version of the local emblem over white. It was adopted officially through Local Agreement No. 001 on 22 June 2008, though the image made official in the document is distorted and has a red stripe instead of the purplish-red actually found.

The logo as officially adopted through Local Agreement No. 001 of 22 June 2008 is in black and white, outlined in black. The top part has a ribbon which reads BOSA, and depicts to the sides of the word the sun and moon for the main Muisca deities; the ribbon has a scroll to each side recalling the Muisca legends. Underneath, a ribbon reads the meaning of its name, which is CERCADO QUE PROTEGE Y DEFIENDE LAS MIESES [Enclosure That Protects and Defends The Harvest]. To the sides of the ribbon are comedy and tragedy masks for culture. In the center, a turtle shell shape (enclosure) forms the outer ring; in its center, a man as depicted by the Muisca Indians protects two cobs of corn on each side, and overall represents the local name.
