Based on the coat of arms of the von Ulm family, who owned the village as a fief of the Bishop of
Constance. In the 18th century the rights went to the city of Zurich, as indicated by the colours.
On 1 January 1995 Weerswilen split off the Berg commune and joined Weinfelden.
