Description of the flag

The flag of Unity appears at the town park at http://www.townofunity.com. It is divided per saltire, white and yellow, but a green saltire.  Further details are not clear.  This image behind the town council members at http://www.townofunity.com/resident/town_council.php shows at least a U-shaped pair of wheat heads in the upper quarter.

The Unity Flag was unveiled on July 1st, 2000 as one of the Town of Unity's millennium projects. The concept for a Unity flag was born by Frank Oatway, a life-long promoter of the Unity District. The design of the flag was completed by Masterhand Signs utilizing components from a community-wide flag design contest.

The 'X' symbolizes the several crossroads that exist at Unity (CNR/CPR, Hwys 14 & 21). The colours of yellow symbolize wheat, the white symbolizes salt, the green is for progress and prosperity, and the skyline of buildings depicts the diversity our community enjoys.
