The Municipality

The municipality of Saint-Jules (573 inhabitants; 5,700 ha) is located 25 km south-west of Saint-Georges-en-Beauce.

The fleur-de-lis symbolizes the province of Quebec.
The red and blue background symbolize the successive French (blue) and English (red) regimes.
The heart and the hand symbolizes generosity and mutual-aid, which are characteristic of Saint-Jules' people.
The papal cross recalls that Louis-Nazaire Bégin (1840-1925), Archbishop of Quebec (1898-1925) named the parish canonically erected on 5 November 1918 for St. Jules (280-352), 35th Pope (337-352).
The tree symbolizes forest, which covers most of Saint-Jules' territory, as well as timber and sugar industry.
The golden furrows recall that agriculture was the first inhabitants' source of income, slowing the municipality's growth.
The golden maple leaves indicate that Saint-Jules is part of the resources of Beauce.
The French motto, which reads "Proud of Our Parish and Happy to Grow There", is coined from the album celebrating the 57th birthday of Saint-Jules (11918-1993).
