About the Flag

The municipality of Quinta do Sol (5,085 inhabitants in 2010; 32,618 ha) is located 500 km north-west of Curitiba.

Quinta do Sol was established by State Law No. 4,788 promulgated on 14 December 1964, separating from Fénix.
The name of the municipality is a tribute to Portuguese colonization, a "quinta" being in Portugal "a big domain". "Sol" completes the name as a reference to the musical note G ("sol"), the fifth ("quinta") degree on the chromatic scale.
