About the Flag

The municipality of Lunardelli (5,156 inhabitants in 2010; 19,922 ha) is located 300 km north-west of Curitiba.

Lunardelli was established in 1962 on Gleba de Lunardelli, a vast domain owned by Geremia Lunardelli, a colonist of Italian origin. The first mass in the new settlement was celebrated on 1 July 1963.
The district of Guaretá, originally established within the municipality of Pitanga by State Law No. 613 promulgated in 1951 and transferred in 1955 to the newly established municipality of Manoel Ribas, and in 1964 to the newly established municipality of São João do Ivaí, was renamed to Lunardelli by State Law No. 5,535 promulgated in 1967.
The municipality of Lunardelli was established by State Law No. 7,267 promulgated on 19 December 1979. and inaugurated on 15 December 1982.

The flag and arms of Lunardelli are prescribed by Municipal Law No. 544 promulgated on 16 July 1998.

Article 6.
The municipal flag of Lunardelli, designed by municipal civil servants Otaviano Proença Neto, Maria Lúcia Cadamuro, Jacson Ribeiro and Ubaldo de Barros, is formed by a rectangular field in green, white, yellow, white and navy blue colors. The green, white, white and navy colors are separated by a yellow stripe, which runs from the lower right to the upper right angle. All the other stripes follow the same pattern. In the center of the rectangular field is placed a celestial blue star, which, in its upper and lower parts, is surrounded by three yellow (gold) stars. The central star, in size twice the others, represents the municipality of Lunardelli and the three smaller ones the districts of Guaretá, Primavera and Madalena. All stars are surrounded by a red line.

Article 7.
Colors
a) of the stripes
Yellow synthesizes the agricultural production of the municipality, such as corn, wheat, soybeans, beans, cattle, etc.
Green represents the forest reserve existing in the municipality, signifying love and respect devoted to nature.
White means peace, harmony and tranquility prevailing among all citizens residing in the municipality's territory, whether native or who made Lunardelli their new homeland.
Navy blue represents the main geographic features, rivers Ivaí and Bulha.
b) of the charges
b.1 - Largest star: celestial blue - indicates the color of the sky, as a cloak wrapping the fair and integral actions of all those who produce or work in the municipality.
b.2 - Smaller stars: yellow (gold): the wealth existing in each of the districts, which added to that of the municipal seat, form the largest value of the entire territory of the municipality;
b.3 - Red line: portrays the traditional crop of the municipality and its main source of income, coffee.
Rectangle - defines the physical territorial space of the municipality, where everyone working harmoniously and fraternally, under a single desire for progress and development, loves the homeland and lives under God's protection, living and defending essential freedom for all peoples: "the democratic state of right".
Ascending stripes represent the tribute due to the pioneers of the municipality.
Stars: configure the administrative units, namely:
a) Largest star: the municipal headquarters; the town of Lunardelli.
b) Smaller stars: the districts of Guaretá, Primavera and Madalena.

Article 8.
The flag of the municipality of Lunardelli shall be rectangular, in proportions 14 units in width on 20 units in length, pursuant to Article 5 of Federal Law No. 5,700 promulgated on 1 September 1971, with the following characteristics.
III - The central star shall have a size equivalent to 2.5 units, these measured at its largest aperture.
IV - The smaller stars shall have a size equivalent to 50% of the size of the larger star;
V - The central transversal stripe, in yellow color, which connects the upper left and lower right angles, shall be 7 units in width.
VI - The width of the white stripes that connect to the central yellow stripe will be 50% of the width of the central transverse stripe.
VII - The light blue (upper right angle) and green (lower left angle) stripes shall have a width equivalent to the remainder of the rectangular field.
