About the Flag

The municipality of Ampére (19,311 inhabitants in 2020; 29,834 ha) is located 500 km west of Curitiba.

Ampére was first settled in 1947 by João Pociano de Almeida, who was joined the next year by several other families. The district of Ampére was established in 1957, to be elevated a municipality by State Law No. 4,348 promulgated on 11 April 1961, separating from Santo Antônio do Sudoeste and Capanema. The municipality was inaugurated on 28 November 1961.
The origin of the name of Ampére is unknown.

The flag of Ampére is horizontally divided (1:2-1) blue-white-green, charged in the center with the municipal coat of arms.
