The municipality of La Adela (1,904 inhabitants in 2010; 7,774 sq. km2) is located in the south-east of La Pampa Province, 280 km from Santa Rosa. La Adela forms a single urban until with the town of Río Colorado
(11,733 inh.), located in the Río Negro, across river Colorado. La Adela is the capital of the Caleu Caleu Department (2,313 inh.; 9,078 sq.km).

The flag of La Adela, designed by Maira Cane, was selected on 12 September 2019 among six proposals.

The flag features the old bridge over river Colorado, which was proclaimed Cultural Heritage by Resolution No. 65, issued on 28 March 2018 by the Secretariat of Culture of La Pampa. The bridge was built in 1909 to transport wool to the Río Colorado railway station.
