It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain green field.

Coat of arms

Shield Argent, a cogwheel Gules between two branches of olive Vert fruited Sable connected, in chief a Greek cross fitchy Azure. Mural crown with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black initials: "ABRÃ - SANTARÉÉM".
Meaning:
The cogwheel is symbolizing industries, the branches the rural character of the commune. The cross alludes to the old silver church cross of the chapel of the Holy Trinity, which had been robbed by French troops of Napoleon I. Draft designed by Estrela Branco.
