Shield Gules, a sword and a scimitar Argent-both hilted Or-in saltire, in chief a Maltese cross Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "ALDOAR - PORTO".
Meaning:
Sword and scimitar are reminding on the numerous battlefields in the region between Christians and Moors. The sword above refers to the fact that in the end the Christians were victorious. Especially the sword is also alluding to St. Martin, the local patron saint. The cross is alluding to the Knights' Order of St. John playing a role within the local reconquest and Christianing.

Coat of arms

Shield Argent with base wavy of Azure over Argent over Vert, a tower Sable masoned Argent and roofed Gules with port Gules, flanked by two mattock's blades Azure. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "FOZ DO DOURO".
Meaning:
"Foz do Douro" means "mouth of the Douro". The base wavy with green (sea water) and blue (sweet water) wave is thus canting.

Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "NEVOGILDE - PORTO".
Meaning:
Sword and scales are attributes of St. Michael, the local patron saint.
