About the Flag

It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a gyronny of eight (city rank) of yellow and blue field.

Shield Azure, a three arched memorial Or masoned Sable with round basement, topped by a ring of columns, topped by a triangular gable, topped by a cross and open-worked by an ogival arch. Mural crown Argent with five visible towers (city rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "CIDADE DE ODIVELAS.
Meaning:
The memorial is a local monument and dedicated to King Dom Dinis.

Flag and arms adopted and published in Diário da República: III Série on 28 April 1995. Odivelas commune gained the rank of a city on 10 August 1990. The former name was officially Odivelas (Lumiar e Carnide). Odivelas was spun off Loures Municipality on 19 November 1998.

Presentation of Odivelas

Odivelas commune is one of the four communes of the municipality with the same name. It had 59 559 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 5,02 km².
