It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain purple field.

Coat of arms

Shield Argent with base wavy of Azure and Argent, two grapevines Purpure leaved Vert and ordered per fess, in chief a Marian crown Azure, issuant from base a throughout bridge Sable masoned Argent and having three arches. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll (Bénard Guedes style) with inscription in black capitals "VERMIOSA".
Meaning:
The crown is representing Our Lady of Conception, the local patron saint.

Vermiosa Commune is one of the ten communes of Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo Municipality; it had 394 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 40.1 km².
