Shield Or, in base a triple mount Vert over waves Argent and Vert, in central chief a cogwheel Gules flanked by two sugar canes stemmed Gules and leaved Vert. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black capitals "FREGUESIA DA CALHETA - MADEIRA". The artist is Luís Moreira.
