Overview

Coclé province is located in middle part of Panama, along the southern, Pacific coast of the country. Coclé Province in Panama had a previous flag with similar colours as the current one, but in a different design. Based on this article, it was adopted in 2004. I have no information when the current one has adopted, but it must been before November 2010.

See too: https://simbolospatrios.org/simbolos-patrios-de-cocle/. According to this website, the flag of the province of Coclé was created in 1994 by Nixa Gnaegi de Ríos and officilaly adopted on 27th August 2004 by the Coordinación de Coclé. It was already white / azure / red, with silver diamonds. However, I don't know how reliable are the information on this  website.

Concerning the flag with the name Coclé on lower white stripe and with silver only diamonds and a light blue central band, we have a photograph of 2010.
Here you can see different versions of the flag of Coclé:
- https://www.critica.com.pa/la-voz-del-interior/izan-la-bandera-coclesana-en-el-distrito-de-penonome-243947 very light blue or light grey color of the central band, image published in 2012
- https://twitter.com/penonomeurbano/status/815740284566982656: medium blue color of the central band and of the diamonds in the red band, image published in 2017
- https://www.imgrumweb.com/post/BZUU4oCh9jl dark grey color of the central band, image published in 2017. Same version in one of the pictures shown in the top of this page: https://www.diaadia.com.pa/el-pais/cocle-rinde-homenaje-la-patria-327733 published in 2017

There are many variants for the flag of Coclé: the variants are about the color of the central band, the colors and the position of the diamonds, and the adding of the name of the province.
It looks that at least:
- silver diamonds on the same line and a light blue central band are the older known variant
- grey central band with grey/white/red diamonds and arranged differently are documented at least since 2012

So the flag at the top of this page is probably the current one, and the flag with vertical stripes is probably a former variant, unseen since 2010.

Former Flag

The [likely former] flag is consist of red, light blue and white vertical stripes, and of a horizontal white stripe placed on lower part of the flag, where name of the province is written in black letters, as well. 6 grey diamonds are placed on vertical stripes (two of each), representing the districts of the province.

I was in contact with the provincial authorities of Panama in 2003. According to Mr. Mizracho of the provincial government, Cocle had not adopted a flag yet in 2003.
