The municipality of Edam-Volendam absorbed on 1 January 2016 the
former municipality of Zeevang.
The flag of the new municipality of Edam-Volendam is white with the
municipal emblem.
The emblem is made of a white shield with a black border and four
coloured bends, from top to bottom: orange, blue, green and red. On
the right of the shield is the writing "Gemeente" (Municipality, green
letters) / "EDAM" (black letters) / "VOLENDAM" (black letters).
"Gemeente" is omitted on the flag.
The flag of the new municipality was hoisted on 4 January 2016 at
10:00 by interim Mayor Van Beek.

The first municipal flag was: quartered diagonally; hoist three equally
wide horizontal stripes RWR, with on the white stripe a
demi-facing bull in red contourcolors; top green; fly Orange-White-Orange
with a foal on white in red contour-colors; bottom
black.
The basic colors are of the town of Edam (red-green) and of the village
of Volendam (orange-black), ordered according to the traditional models
of the Holland gueuzes. For some intricate reasons the two local emblems
(the Edammer bull, and the Volendammer (canting) foal were designed in
contours.

adopted 21 May 1981; design: Stichting voor Banistiek en Heraldiek.
It appears it was never used because nobody was able to appreciate it.
