Overview

Flag and coat of arms of Jasiunai (Vilnius county - Vilniaus apskritis, Salcininkai district - Salcininku rajonas). The flag is according to my personal observation from the flag show of Mindaugas coronation 750th anniversary. The coat of arms is drawn according to image from the catalogue of exposition in the Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania, March 15-30, 2002.

Jasiunai (Salcininkai District) - On a red field a silver column between two golden 7-pointed stars. Flag proportions 5:6, free edges bordered with a narrow golden stripe, finial is a golden tip. The column refers both to the Jasiunai Palace of a late classicism style and the letter "I", which in the old Latin alphabet also meant "J", the initial letter of the town's name. Two stars symbolize the closely related families Balinski and Sniadecki, the kin of many luminaries of culture, also their famous friends (Adam Mickiewicz, Jan and Juliusz Slowacki, Stanislovas Jundzilas and many others), who lived in Jasiunai or visited it: through all of them Jasiunai was an important regional centre of culture in the early 19th century.
