Overview

The Holy Spirit University of Kaslik / Université Saint-Esprit de Kaslik (USEK) was founded in 1938 in Kaslik as an independent private catholic institution, by the Lebanese Maronite Order who serves higher education in monasteries since the 18th century.
USEK is composed of 12 Faculties:
- Pontifical Faculty of Theology (1950);
- Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities (1950);
- Faculty of Letters (1950);
- Faculty of Law (1988; succeeding the Faculty of Canon Law, 1950):
- Faculty of Business and Commercial Sciences (1966);
- Faculty of Music (1993; succeeding the Institute of Musicology, 1970):
- Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts (1974);
- Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences (1988);
- Faculty of Medicine and Medical Sciences (2001):
- Faculty of Sciences (2010, after the split of the Faculty of Sciences and Computer Engineering, 2000);
- Faculty of Engineering (2010, after the split of the Faculty of Sciences and Computer Engineering, 2000);
- Faculty of Religious and Oriental Studies (2011; succeeding the Institute of Liturgy, 1969);
and of tree institutes:
- Institute of History (1972);
- Higher Institute of Nursing Sciences (1999);
- Higher Institute of Political and Administrative Sciences (2006).
USEK hosts more than 7,700 students on tis main campus (Kaslik) and, since 2000-2001, on the three three regional university centers of Chekka, Rmeich and Zahle.

The flag of USEK is made of the university's logo, with the name of the university written in French.

The flag appears to be also used with reverted colours, that is with blue symbol and writing on a white field.

Following the approval of the University Council on September 18, 2009, the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik officially announced on October 20, 2009, the launch of its new graphic identity including a new logo and its implementation on different communication vehicles, as well as new formats.
The new logo, symbol of the new identity, harmoniously combines the USEK acronym and its founding symbols: the dove representing the Holy Spirit, the University patron, as well as the open book, source of all knowledge.
