From the Gyeongsangnam/Kyongsangnam web site:
The flag features the symbol mark of the province. The meaning is described as:
Red color at the top Passionate spirit of Gyeongsangnam-do people who love their province and nation.
Green color on the left Nature and industries forming harmony.
Yellow color on the right Fertile earth as the base of life.
Blue color at the bottom Cleanliness of Nakdonggang River and the South Sea.
White color at the center Strong Gyeongsangnam-do that shines like the rising sun.
The circle as a whole is founded on the spirit of unity to develop the whole areas of Gyeongsangnam-do equally by utilizing the abundant nature and the capabilities of Gyeongsangnam-do people.
Furthermore it represents Gyeongsangnam-do's infinite growth into the world by means of boosting the advanced technology and cultural & Tourism industry competitively in the 21st century of Asia Pacific Era.
