The city emblem was adopted on Aug 1st 1950 and the flag was adopted on Mar 2nd 1970 by Notice No 38. The white flag has a red city emblem in the canton. The city emblem is a stylized A of Ayabe in a form of a twill weave. It looks a pigeon as a symbol of peace as well. The letter A symbolizes an infinity and a top rank. The flag proportion is 7: 10.
