Presentation of Montreuil

J.F.J. Montreuil was a shipowner active in Rouen in the beginning of the 20th century.
The ship Aline Montreuil, launched in 1900 was torpedoed and sunk on 21 September 1917, 22 miles north of Barfleur, by the German submarine UB38.

House flag of Montreuil

The house flag of Montreuil, as shown in the Yearbook of the Central Committee of France Shipowners (1922), is blue with a white saltire and in the middle a white disk charged with a red "M".
Black and white photos of the Aline Montreuil seem to indicate that the same emblem appeared on the funnel.
