Jonathan´s Personal Flag and Listmaster Emeritus Flag

I was born in Sydney, Australia in 1981. While studying at the University of Sydney, my discovery of the Flags of the World website and mailing list resparked my interest in flags. I began editing in 2000 and joined the Flags Society of Australia. I've had various moderate or smaller sized editing responsibilities since then, as I've done graduate studies in pure mathematics at Queen Mary, University of London, a stint as listmaster, returned to work in Sydney, and had a growing family.

My earliest distinctive flag memory was as child noticing that the New South Wales Fire Brigades flag wasn't either the national or state flag that I expected, but did follow a similar pattern. Involvement in the vexillogical community on and off-line opened my eyes to all sorts of information beyond basic charts and what I could see with my own eyes. Even now, though, I am especially interested not just in the details and status of flags and the pattterns they use, but also where and when they can been seen.
