Description of flag:
The flags ratio is 3:5. It is horizontal 3-stripes flag, yellow over red over yellow with ratio 1:3:1 with the coat of arms in the centre of the flag.

Description of coat of arms:
In a golden (=yellow) shield are six alternating white and red hexagons, each has both vertical sides of double length of the four others, the angles are 90 (top and bottom) and 135 (the others).
Within the ring a golden (=yellow) hole of the same shape is created.

Meaning:
The city of Bergkamen was built of six villages and hamlets. The ring also symbolizes the formula for benzole and the importance of the chemical industries.
