Unterwachingen Municipal Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess, above Argent a N-shaped wolf trap Gules, below Gules sword key in saltire, both Argent.
Meaning:
The upper half displays the arms of the Lords of Emerkingen, local rulers of the village in the 13th century. Sword and key are taken from the arms of Obermarchtal Monastery, to which the village had been pawned and later on sold. The village remained a dominion of Obermarchtal until 1803.
