The flag's ratio is 3:5. It is a yellow over red over yellow horizontal triband having a yellow flaghead, which contains the coat of arms.

Description of banner:
It is a red - yellow - red vertical triband having a yellow bannerhead, which contains the coat of arms.

Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
At the base of a golden (=yellow) shield is a red mountain having three peaks, it is superimposed by a golden (=yellow) plough share. On top of the central peak is a green, rooted linden tree.
Meaning:
According to source the tree reminds on an old vehmgericht, which had his seat at the old king's highway crossing the village. The plough share is symbolizing agriculture and the mountain is the symbolizing the location on top of a hill. Red and yellow had been the colours of the archbishopric of Münster.

Flag and banner were approved by Regierungspräsident Münster on 30 April 1979, the coat of arms on 10 June 1938 by Oberpräsident of Prussian province of Westphalia.
