Dahme Municipal Flag

Description of flag: The ratio is 3:5. It is a blue flag divided by three yellow, wavy, horizontal lines. The coat of arms is slightly shifted to the hoist. The base is covering the wavy lines.

Dahme Municipal Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
In a golden (= yellow) shield above a base of blue and silver (=white) waves are two lighthouses, mainly red.
Meaning:
The lighthouses are those of Dahmeshöved. They are the landmark of the municipality. A fire had been here since time immemorial. Since the middle of the 20th century Dahme is a spa and tourism replaced agriculture and fishing as the main business line.

The flag was approved on 24 November 1994. The coat of arms was approved on 25 February 1993. The artist is Hans Frieder Kühne from Barsbüttel.
