Höpfingen Coat of Arms

Shield Argent with base Vert, standing on base a bishop with a choir's dress Gules, holding a book sable in his right and a crozier Or in his left hand, behind the bishop a hind statant Sable, having an arrow sable in her breast.
Meaning:
The bishop is St. Giles (in Germany aka Ägidius), the local patron saint. Book and crozier are his attributes. According to a legend the hind nourished him by her milk. The arrow is alluding to a hunting party of the King of the Visigoths, chasing the hind. The pattern appeared on a local court seal from 1777, it was proposed as arms in 1909, amended in 1957.
