Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale with triplemount Vert in base, at dexter Argent three axes Gules ordered 2:1 with upper axes endorsed, at sinister Gules a fleur-de-lis Or beneath a coronet of the same.
Meaning:
The triplemount is representing Hoher Meiißner, a mountain ridge, name giver of the municipality and the county. The axes refer to the fact that the names of six of the seven villages forming the municipality have the suffix "Rode", usually settlements, which had their origin by forest clearance. The axes had also been the arms of the Counts of Bilstein, local rulers in the 13th century. Crown and fleur-de-lis are attributes of St. Mary, patron saint of the local Premonstratensian monastery of Germerode, which stress the aspects of purity (lily) and celestial queen (coronet).
The arms were adopted on 3 November 1997 by the local council.
