Eckental Banner

Description of banner:
It is a black - white vertical bicolour. The coat of arms is shifted to the top. Please not that according to M. Schmöger the coat of arms in my image is oversized, but just in order to see the dezails better.

Eckental Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
The golden-yellow shield is divided by a red pale, which is superimposed by a silver (= light grey) fish. The dexter side displays a black, rampant, double queued lion, crowned, armed and tongued red. The sinister side displays the bust of a black ibex. The whole is superimposed by a blue fess wavy on the base.
Meaning:
The fess wavy is symbolizing Eckenbach creek, the name giver of the new municipality. Lion and fish are alluding to the Muffel family, a member of the gentry of Nürnberg in the past. They are also representing the former market town of Eschenau. The ibex is alluding to the Gotzmann family and their connection with the village of Forth. This family and other families of the local nobility were entitled to administer the law on an inferior level.
