Description of banner:
It is a 4-stripes banner divided by alternating stripes of yellow and green. The bannerhead is divided per fess. Above in a yellow field is a black demi lion issuant armed and tongued red. Below in a green field is a golden (=yellow), statant lion, crowned, armed and tongued red.
Source: §2(2) of Hauptsatzung of the municipality of Nörvenich version version 3 March 2008. According to source there is only a banner.
Meaning:
According to source the arms are based upon a seal of the dukes of Jülich-Berg, dated 1556. The upper demi lion is symbolizing the dukes of Jülich, the origin of the statnt lion is ambiguous.
