Description of the Flag

A vertical triband, green-white-green, with the municipal arms in the centre on a white disk centred on a red lozenge.

The flag and arms of Paial are prescribed by Municipal Law No. 37 promulgated on 19 August 1997.

Article 6.
The municipal flag, designed by Nelsi Piontkoski, with minor changes following technical revision, shall be composed of two horizontal green stripes and another, white, between them, symbolizing aspiration to progress mediated by peace; a red lozenge, meaning the colonists' courage and bravery during the development of the municipality; a white circle, for durable peace.
On the flag, the coat of arms shall represent the municipal government.

Article 7.
In compliance with heraldic rules, the municipal flag shall have the official dimensions adopted for the national flag, 14 units in width on 20 units in length.

Article 19.
The coat of arms of the municipality of Palai shall have the following symbolic interpretation.
a) The Samnite shield means culture and traditions inherited from the colonizers.
b) The mural crown surmounting the shield means a universal symbol of domains' arms; its tower argent (silver) classifies a second-rank town.
c) A human hand, a source of impulse to progress in reforestation, citrus and maize cultivation, the municipality's main sources of income.
d) A dove symbol of liberty and administrative autonomy.
e) A book, representing people's culture and education.
f) Date "4 July 1995", for the date of emancipation of the municipality of Paial.
g) The sun, symbolizing warmth and the citizens' comfort and receptivity.
h) A blue stripe, symbolizing people's union and work for the development and progress of the municipality of Paial.
