Presentation of Jablanica

Jablanica is the site of an important hydroelectric power plant and dam. The dam was bult in 1955 and was one of the most important post-World War II engeenering projects. The dam was frequently shown on postage stamps of the period.
The Neretva bridge was torn down in 1943 by Tito's partisans during the "Fourth Offensive" performed by the Axis forces to finish off with "Tito's state". In the retreat, Tito ordered tearing down all the bridges over Neretva, and the forces were pulled out over an improvised bridge at Jablanica next to a torn down railway bridge. The story is one of the most revered epos of the Second World War in Yugoslavia.

The coat of arms is prescribed by Decision Odluka o grbu općine Jablanica, adopted on 25 February 1999 by the Municipal Council and published in the municipal official gazette Službeni glasnik općine Jablanica, No. 1.

The "Communication Strategy of the Municipality of Jablanica" (Strategija komunikacija u Općini Jablanica, text), prescribed by Decision Odluka o usvajanju Strategije komunikacija u Općini Jablanica, adopted on 20 March 2008 by the Municipal Council and published the same day in the official Municipal gazette Službeni glasnik općine Jablanica, No. 2, describes various modes of communication with the public and media etc., including the visual identity of the municipality. In the section titled "Design, Visual Identity, Emblem/Logo", it is concluded that the coat of arms is mostly used unsystematically, according to personal feeling of officials and mostly in festive occasions only. The strategy intends for the set-up of a book of graphical standards, protocols, education, etc.
