Wildwood

[Flag of Wildwood] image located by David Sigley, 13 April 2024

Wildwood is a bayside neighborhood located within the town of Cumberland. The community was formed back in 1909 as "Wildwood Park" and was established by the Concord Reality Company after it was sold to them by Sumner Sturdivant. The Wildwood Park Association was established in 1911 and was renamed in 1963 to the Wildwood Park Associates Inc. You can read more about the history of this community here: https://wildwoodmaine.wordpress.com/history/

There is no information by the community about the flag other then it was designed by a local name Mary Keysor, which can be found at https://wildwoodmaine.wordpress.com/about/. I was also unable to find any photos of the flag, so there could be a cleaner version of the flag.

The flag shows a wavy vertical tri-color of blue-gold-red. The blue side shows a group of sailboats off the shore. The gold area depicts the entrance to the community. In the red area are three stars with the number four. It's uncertain what this points to specifically, though it's most likely for the Fourth of July as it's a very big celebration in the community.
